Young 'Uns Visit

7th March 2018

Young ‘Uns

We were joined by some very special visitors in school today – The Young ‘Uns. They are a folk group – who delighted us all with their stunning singing. All children in Years 5 and 6 were involved in workshops during the day with the group – they learnt about historical stories of people in Britain – with the theme of equality threaded through them all.

The children heard about the moving story of Michael Marks – the founder of Marks and Spencer, they explored the historical time of the Peasants Revolt, and created raps in groups. We were thrilled to listen to how The Young ‘Uns put these together to create our school rap. You can listen to it here!

It was a fantastic day – we hope they will visit us again soon!
