As a school, we are very proud of our sporting achievements. Sport receives a high profile in the school, and we are proud of having achieved the Sainsbury School Sports Platinum Award (one of only 104 schools nationwide to do so) - this is in recognition of the opportunities for sport within school, and the many competitions we are involved in.
One of our highlights during the year is the County Cross Country Championships - which we organize and hold at Priory Park - a short distance from the school. We are usually joined by around 60 other schools. Last year, over 800 children competed - it was a magnificent event!
We were named School of the Year in Hunts Post Sports Award in July 2014 and again, in July 2015 - we were thrilled!
We were also nominated as a finalist for the Living Sports Awards in November 2014.
The school receives additional funding from the government, as part of the Olympic Legacy - this is called the Sports Premium. The link below details how this has been spent, with an evaluation of its impact.
