Friends of Priory

All parents of a child at Priory Junior School automatically become members of the Friends of Priory. Everyone is welcome to get involved - by joining the committee or helping at events. We try to organise events that the whole school community will really enjoy getting involved in, whilst raising funds for the school.

The funds raised go towards providing items that will enhance the education and experience your child has at school, whether by providing classroom or sports equipment, assisting with school trips, or funding coaches for events that the school is participating in.

Together, we raised a magnificent £20,000 over a period of 3 years - we used this to build a new cookery room for the school, which is now used in lessons, for Friends of Priory events, and can be used for lettings too. We were delighted to have the Mayor of St Neots officially open it for us in October 2014.

During 2014-15, we have raise funds to refurbish our School Library, making it a place where children will love to visit to read, and discover new worlds.

Friends of Priory are currently raising funds to help the school improve their outdoor environment - with a storytelling corner and a trim trail on the wish list.

The Great Priory Run

Over the weekend of 1st - 3rd May, our first ever virtual run was held, called The Great Priory Run, organised by Friends of Priory.

Children and adults could choose to run a 3km fun run, and a 10km challenge was also open to adults too. Children, parents, staff and other members of the school community signed up for the challenge - with a total of 385 runners taking part.

Giving us all a focus during the January lockdown, everyone got training - ready for this special event. We were all encouraged to take part by GB runner, Jo O'Regan, and Stephen Ferguson, the mayor of St Neots.

Over the weekend, everyone donned their special event T-shirts, with 'Be The Best You Can Be' emblazoned across their backs. And they certainly were! All runners will now receive a special medal, along with their great sense of achievement. Well done everyone!
