Parents and Learning

Spelling and Grammar Information Evening
Our recent spelling and grammar information evening gave parents a chance to learn about the school's approach to teaching spelling and grammar during children's time at Priory Junior School.
It was a practical session, with lots of helpful ideas for games and activities to play at home to support children with their learning too.
A selection of the resources are opposite.
Residential Trips - Year 4 and Year 6
Year 6 will be visiting Robin Hood's Bay over the course of 2 weeks after half-term:
CS6 - 5th - 9th June
KS6 - 12th - 16th June
Year 4 will also be visiting Burwell House during the week beginning 12th June.
Our recent information evening's provided some useful information for parents about the trips. Below are the presentations from the evenings.
Parent Do Days
Each term, parents are invited to join their children in class and take part in one of their lessons with them.
This year, we have been focusing on involving parents in creative maths activities. In the Autumn term, parents joined us for a lesson involving measurements to create Christmas decorations.
In the Spring term, the focus was on maths in art. Some wonderful art was created using maths skills and understanding.
Our last Parent Do day this year was on 23rd May - with a focus of English and poetry writing.
Parents' Coffee Morning
This year we have been holding coffee mornings for parents, organised by year groups with the aim of raising money for charity.
Parents are invited to come and enjoy a coffee and a cake from 9 - 10am, with entertainment provided during this time. You can drop in for some or all of this time.
Our next coffee morning is on 28th June - this will be for new Year 3 parents for September.
