Paralympian visits Priory

28th November 2016

John Walker, Paralympian and double gold medallist, joined us for assembly on Monday, 28th November. He shared his inspirational story with the children – how he had suffered life-changing injuries, and then been motivated by the 2012 Paralympics to try his hand at archery.

Three and a half years later, and after a lot of dedication and hard work, John became a double gold medallist at the Rio Paralympics 2016.

A question and answer session followed – with the children keen to find out more about John’s successes.

The key message for us all was to set ourself goals, and to keep trying to reach them – believe in yourself and keep trying!
